Oct 05,  · Skunk Anansie reunite after 11 years for their first album after Post-Orgasmic Chill, and it's almost as though they never left. The drift away from angry, overtly political material continues as Skin regales the listener with songs about love and lust that manage to avoid being simple love songs thanks to the nuances and complexities of the emotions expressed/5().

Nov 28,  · Skunk Anansie were one of those acts in the 90s that you couldn't help but be aware of, particularly around the time of their second album, Stoosh.A punkish hard rocking quartet, they stood significantly apart from the various cookie-cutter Britpop acts of the era, with a different attitude and a different /5().

Now when this album first hit the air waves in Auckland, it was the dead skunk song that was thrashed to death and sang along with at stoned and drunken student parties (with added variations of dead possums/cats and big rats for a more local flavour). So my memory of that particular song is it was a rollocking filibuster of a ditty/5(37).

My guess is that if you're looking at this album, you're looking for an introduction to classic big band swing hits like "Sing, Sing, Sing" and "In the Mood." The CD serves this purpose well. However, the best reasons to buy this CD are tracks 9, 10, and /5(7).
